How To Make Corned Beef Seasoning
- Combine all seasoning mix ingredients for immediate use.
- Use to brine corned beef or to slow cook (oven roasted or slow cooker) your 3-4 lb brisket portion.
- Store unused spice blend in an airtight container.
Please note that we absolutely LOVE cooking with whole spices for certain dishes. You can (and are most welcome to) substitute ground spices in for their whole counterparts. In that case and for this corned beef seasoning mix, if the spice calls for 1 teaspoon whole spice, use ¼ teaspoon of the ground spice for the equivalent flavor in the corned beef.
Freshly ground spices are also an extra special treat. Our favorite is to use a coffee grinder and freshly grind our whole fennel seeds whenever they are called for in a recipe. Yumm!!
